Deep cycle batteries are designed to deliver constant power over a long period and are very well suited to window cleaning applications.

Starter batteries (like car batteries) are designed to provide very high starting currents rather than a long constant and slow discharge, and will have a shorter lifespan as a result if used for powering window cleaning systems.
